Q2 Impact Carries on Turkmenistan Governance
Q2 Impact’s governance support in Turkmenistan continues! The recently-awarded, five-year Governance Activity in Turkmenistan (GAT) will build on Q2 Impact’s recently closed Governance Support Program (GSP).
The program will work to strengthen the implementation of laws and delivery of services and bolster e-governance for efficient service delivery. In partnership with USAID, GAT will improve policy development and lawmaking processes and empower civil society and improve legal environment for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
Since 2015, under GSP, Q2 Impact worked closely with the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan, the Academy of Civil Service of Turkmenistan, 40 government agencies, CSOs, and private enterprises to strengthen public administration and lawmaking processes across the country.
During this time, GSP organized over 400 seminars and training related to effective governance, lawmaking, gender equality reaching over 5,000 stakeholders. This saw the amendment of 33 laws and regulations on topics such as human trafficking prevention, inclusive social services integration, and environmental monitoring.
