Our Governance Support Project in Turkmenistan aims in part to strengthen citizen participation in government. This month we convened private industry, civil service organizations, and government officials to collaborate on disaster risk reduction.
The event was co-organized by the Nature Conservation Society of Turkmenistan and covered by local news outlet Ashgabat Innovative.
Collaboration is at the core of USAID’s Collaborating, Learning and Adapting approach to international development. Effectively reducing the risk of natural and man-made disasters – and mitigating impact when they happen – requires that a variety of stakeholders participate in planning and have their voices heard. We’re proud to support these participants working towards a safer, more resilient Turkmenistan.
