Addis Ababa University to collaborate as part of Center for Global Data Visualization

Q2 Impact, LLC Announces Collaboration with Addis Ababa University in Effort to Build Data Visualization Capacity and Strengthen Culture of Data Use Globally

ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA – (December 12, 2018). Q2 Impact announced today it will be working with Addis Ababa University, College of Health Sciences under the umbrella of the Center for Global Data Visualization (CGDV), an initiative led by The Q2 Impact designed to build data visualization capacity and strengthen a culture of data use in international development.

While common place in the world of business, data analytics is underutilized in the design, implementation and evaluation of international development programs, including health. The CGDV provides a unique platform for collaboration, offering opportunities for training, networking, publishing and professional development in data analytics and visualization. CGDV will mobilize the power of university students to offer insights into some of the greatest challenges facing many low- and middle-income countries today.

“With the onset of the digital revolution, we find ourselves with new tools and technology that enable us to quickly analyze and visualize data easily – more than we could have ever imagined even five years ago. Data visualization software technologies such as Tableau have been transformative, revealing insights we never could have otherwise understood or appreciated in the data.” said President & CEO Neelima Grover, who founded Q2 Impact 20 years ago with the vision to transform lives through knowledge-based solutions. “We must build global data analytics and visualization capacity in areas such as health, education, governance, and the environment. We are excited for AAU to join us on this journey and look forward to seeing the great contribution that AAU students will make in this space.”

The CDGV will officially launch in late Spring/early Summer of 2019.
