In an effort to ramp up focus on strategic internal knowledge sharing, Q2 Impact has established a Learning Series for staff to share and learn from each other on a variety of topics and subject-matter areas. Each of the Learning Series sessions is intended to impart technical expertise, a thematic topic-specific overview, and/or program best practices to create a culture of constant learning for Q2 Impact staff. These sessions are conducted in-person at Q2 HQ, but are also available for offsite and overseas staff to participate via webinar and/or teleconference.
The first session in the Learning Series took place on Wednesday, September 21, covering “The Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) Agenda,” led by Jennifer Dahnke, Q2 Deputy Director for Learning. This session explored the CLA concept and what it means to plan for the tools, resources, and intended impact of CLA activities. The session also described how USAID has been exploring these issues since 2011, and what the USAID Bureau for Policy, Planning, and Learning (PPL) has been doing to encourage all USAID operating units and implementing partners to include CLA. Lastly, the session explained how Q2 has been at the center of CLA, initially as part of the USAID Knowledge-Driven Agricultural Development (KDMD) project, and now through the USAID/Uganda Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Program (The Learning Contract).
Overall it was a great session with great Q2 Impact staff attendance, and we look forward to planning more sessions as part of the internal Q2 Learning Series!
