From October 24-29, Q2 Impact’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) staff attended and presented at the 2016 American Evaluation Association (AEA) Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. With the 2016 theme of “Evaluation + Design,” the attendees dived into various related topics related to program design, evaluation design, and information design. Throughout the conference, the Q2 Impact team participated in four separate panel presentations, including:
- A Model for Programming Performance Monitoring and Evaluations presented by Ami Henson, Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, & Learning (MEL) and Ingrid Orvedal, Senior M&E Specialist
- Design, Complexity, and Evaluation Capacity Building: Role of a Learning Agenda in Evaluation Planning presented by Eric Benschoter, Deputy Director of M&E
- Measuring Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Service Contracts in Egypt, Iraq, and Uganda presented by Ami Henson, Ingrid Orvedal, Rachel Story, Knowledge Management & Learning (KM&L) Program Manager, and Adelaide Bryan, Project Coordinator
- Conducting Systematic Reviews for Utilization with Thin Literature and Information: Overcoming Obstacles in Narrative Analysis and Meta-Analysis for School Feeding Programs presented by Eric Benschoter

AEA is a professional association of evaluators devoted to the application and exploration of program evaluation, personnel evaluation, technology, and many other forms of evaluation. Evaluation involves assessing the strengths and weaknesses of programs, policies, personnel, products, and organizations to improve their effectiveness. AEA has approximately 7,100 members representing all 50 states in the United States, as well as more than 60 foreign countries.
