On November 30, the Washington DC chapter of the Society for International Development (SID-W) hosted its 2016 Annual Dinner. This event honored the achievements of global development professionals and formerly announced the 2016-2017 Board of Directors, which includes Q2 Impact Executive Vice President Byron Radcliffe as the reelected Chairman of the Board.
The SID-W Annual Dinner brought together more than 700 professionals from NGOs, consulting firms, the private sector, government agencies, universities, and other organizations to reflect on the year’s priorities and accomplishments in international development. This year, SID-W honored Ms. Carrie Hessler-Radelet, Director of the Peace Corps, who received the annual Award for Leadership in Development for her exceptional contributions to the field.
SID-W also announced its 2016-2017 Board of Directors, including the re-appointment of Q2 Impact Executive Vice President Byron Radcliffe as the chapter Chairman of the Board. This is Byron’s fourth term in this role, having served as Chairman of the Board since 2013. He is pleased to be reelected, and views SID-W as a “true cross section of the people working in international development,” given the organizational, sectoral, and geographical diversity of its members and their work. Byron further adds that “having this diverse membership to draw from allows SID-W to develop programs and forums that bring critical discussions to the forefront, ensuring we work towards a positive impact on lives around the world.”
